Mitigation / Cleaning Technician
The Restoration Technician is responsible for the mitigation or clean-up of residential or commercial buildings that have received water, fire, smoke, or other permanent damage. The main duties of a Technician may include: water/waste extraction, mold removal, demolition, drying surfaces, vacuuming, washing, caulking, and painting. The Restoration Technician also cleans up bodily fluids when needed.
Requirements:
Must have dependable transportation.
Must be able to communicate clearly with customers and co-workers
Have your own tools
Have your own vehicle for transporting tools and materials
Have a valid driver's license
Physically able to do various handyman jobs and ability to lift 70 lbs on occasion.
Mitigation duties include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare containment of area if required Set up equipment
- Demolish and remove affected contents Extraction of water
- Remove mold
- Dry carpet, wall, sheetrock, subfloors Remove sewage overflow
Cleaning duties include, but are not limited to:
- Vacuum and clean mold; wipe with antimicrobial towel
- After fire damage, wash every content with “wall wash”
- Paint surface areas, most often new dry wall and doors
- Caulk, fill nail holes (trim and cabinets) to prepare for paint
Pack out items and clean at office (depending on quantity and size) ✓ Take soiled materials (clothes, bedding, curtains, etc) to laundromat
