Full-Service Short Order Gook/Kitchen Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Short Order Cook to lead our kitchen operations. As the Head Short Order Cook & Kitchen Manager, you will oversee all aspects of food preparation, ensure efficient workflow, maintain quality standards, and manage kitchen staff. This role requires exceptional culinary skills, strong leadership abilities, and a keen eye for detail.

1. Manage and coordinate all activities in the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, cleanliness standards, and plating.

2. Create and maintain a menu that meets quality standards and reflects seasonal ingredients.

3. Adhering to recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards.

4. Monitor inventory levels and order supplies to maintain adequate stock levels.

5. Maintain kitchen cleanliness and sanitation standards by state health regulations and standards.

6. Understand and implement cost-control measures to optimize kitchen expenses while at the same time maintaining quality.

7. Collaborate with management to develop strategies for improving kitchen efficiency and productivity.

8. Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and special requests professionally.

9. Proven experience as a Short Order Cook or similar role, with experience in a high-volume kitchen environment – be able to fill a “one person” role that can handle all aspects of running a kitchen, quality cooking, pride in your work, and be able to manage all aspects of managing a small kitchen and help grow it into something bigger and better!

10. Proven cooking skills and a strong understanding of various cooking methods, techniques, and cuisines.

11. Ability to effectively manage a kitchen as a “one-person show”.

12. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations, with a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.

13. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, capable of handling multiple orders and tasks simultaneously.

14. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other staff and communicate effectively with management.

15. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

16. A culinary degree or certification from a recognized institute (is preferred but not required).

17. Be able to provide 2-4 professional references that verify your knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform and accel in a kitchen environment.

18. Be professional, well-groomed, clean, have reliable transportation, and presentable to customers.

19. W-2 or 1099 - your choice.
