Job Overview
We are seeking skilled Plumbers, Plumbing Apprentices, and Multi-Trade Handymen to join our team for residential and commercial projects in Vero Beach, FL. The role involves installing plumbing trim, water heaters, rough plumbing systems, and performing cast-iron and underground/drain plumbing repairs, as well as supporting our property management business with multi-trade maintenance tasks. Compensation is offered on an hourly or piece-work basis, depending on skill level and experience.
Responsibilities
Plumber / Plumbing Apprentice Duties
- Install plumbing trim, including faucets, fixtures, and other finishing components.
- Install plumbing roughs, including Uponor, brass, and copper plumbing systems.
- Install and maintain water heaters.
- Perform cast-iron plumbing repairs.
- Conduct underground and drain plumbing installations and repairs.
- Collaborate with project teams to complete installations efficiently.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic plumbing issues as needed.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized manner.
Multi-Trade Handyman Duties
- Perform appliance diagnosis and repair for residential properties.
- Conduct light electrical work, such as replacing outlets, switches, or fixtures.
- Handle painting, patching, and minor drywall repairs.
- Perform cleaning tasks to prepare properties for tenants or inspections.
- Conduct basic HVAC maintenance and problem diagnosis, or demonstrate a willingness to learn these skills.
- Communicate directly with customers to address maintenance concerns professionally.
- Use a computer or tablet to manage and respond to maintenance requests.
- Be available for on-call work, including some weekends, to address urgent property issues.
Qualifications
For Plumbers
- Proven experience as a licensed or journeyman plumber.
- Proficiency in installing plumbing trim, roughs, and water heaters, with familiarity in Uponor, brass, and copper plumbing systems.
- Experience with cast-iron plumbing repairs and underground/drain plumbing installations and repairs.
- Knowledge of local plumbing codes and regulations.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
For Plumbing Apprentices
- Entry-level or minimal experience in plumbing or related trades.
- Willingness to learn and assist with installations and repairs, including rough plumbing with Uponor, brass, and copper systems, cast-iron repairs, and underground/drain plumbing, under supervision.
- Basic understanding of plumbing tools and systems.
- Strong work ethic and eagerness to develop skills.
For Multi-Trade Handyman
- Experience in appliance repair, light electrical work, painting, and cleaning.
- Ability or willingness to learn basic HVAC maintenance and problem diagnosis.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot maintenance issues efficiently.
- Strong communication skills to interact directly with customers.
- General computer or tablet skills (or willingness to learn) for managing maintenance requests.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and personal tools required.
- Comfortable with on-call work, including some weekends.
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials, work in confined spaces, and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a customer-focused attitude.
Compensation
Hourly Pay: Competitive rates based on experience and skill level.
Piece-Work Basis: Available for experienced plumbers or handymen, with pay tied to project completion and quality.
