Arterial Operations Operator [West Palm Beach, FL]West Palm Beach, FL, USA Req #575 Wednesday, October 23, 2024Iteris is looking for multipleArterial Operations Operatorsto be responsible for monitoring and responding to incidents impacting the arterial network, provide day-to-day monitoring of the traffic signal system, track system alarms, and generate signal system operations reports, monitoring of CCTV and DMS systems for the arterial street network, etc. Multiple positions will be working out of the the Palm Beach TSM&O TMC (Transportation Management Center) located at 2300 N. Jog Road, West Palm Beach, FL. What you will be doing:

Arterial Operators are responsible for monitoring the AMS roadways and possess strong familiarity with the district’s arterial network

Monitor the status of arterial network using CCTV, SIRV, Road Ranger Service Patrols (future), detector data, Bluetooth devices, etc.

Detect, confirm, update, and respond to scheduled and unscheduled traffic and incident management events on the arterial network, congestion, and travel time imbalances in the geographical coverage area

Enter all scheduled and unscheduled events and congestion into SunGuide software

Disseminate information using ITS devices, website, and Florida 511 system

Coordinate with other Control Room staff, law enforcement, and external agencies in response to incidents

Dispatch SIRVs to motorists, events, and to assist law enforcement in a timely and efficient manner

Coordinate with signal timing staff and county or city/municipality staff as required to adjust signal timing as needed in response to scheduled and unscheduled events

Detect, confirm, and report equipment faults affecting Control Room equipment and field equipment, including equipment maintained by the signal timing agency

Perform daily Arterial ITS infrastructure checks (CCTVs, DMS, MVDS, Video Wall, etc.) early in the mornings and open ITS device failure tickets for malfunctions detected during the check

Coordinate with maintenance staff as needed

Follow FDOT District 4 policies and procedures, including the District 4 TSM&O SOP

Follow time requirements in the District 4 TSM&O SOP for event confirmation, RRSP and SIRV dispatching, etc.

Perform additional duties as assigned by the Express Lanes Operations Manager or Program Management

Act as essential personnel during emergency events as needed to support MTC operations’ needs

What you need to be successful in this role:

Over one year of experience in transportation, public safety, and/or commercial operations

High School Degree, or equivalent

Commitment to outstanding client service

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially with clients and/or partner agencies

Proficiency in computing and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Able to work in a small team environment

Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask

Strong work ethic

General knowledge and interest in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and traffic management standards

Flexibility and dependability

Good time and task management skills

Ability and willingness to work alternate schedules and function as essential personal (including during regional emergencies)

Iteris anticipates paying $20.00/hr. for this role. However, actual pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience.
