Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar & Grill Miami hiring for the position of host/hostsess. Hiring both permanent and seasonal positions. Full-time, part-time, day-only, and night-only positions are available.
The Host is the first encounter a guest has with our restaurant and the last employee they will see before departing. Whether over the phone or in person, hosts have the important responsibility of setting the tone for their experience with us. Blue Ribbon hosts have a warm, congenial disposition and excellent team players. Hosts also take pickup orders and oversee third-party delivery applications, and therefore are required to demonstrate a solid understanding of the menu.
Responsibilities
Greet all guests warmly, help them during their time in the restaurant, and bid them farewell as they are leaving.
Book and manage reservations on OpenTable.
Assign and seat guests that maximize seating, minimize wait, and best utilize the service team.
Take pickup orders and take payment.
Demonstrate an excellent working knowledge of the food and beverage menu.
Oversee third-party delivery applications including Doordash, Grubhub, and Ubereats. Confirm that delivery orders are complete and hand off orders to the correct driver.
Answer the phone.
Follow company service standards of procedure
Maintain a clean, stocked, and organized work area
Qualifications
2+ years’ experience in a customer service-oriented position required
1+ years experience in the food service industry is preferred
Opentable or comparable reservation program experience preferred
Strong organizational and communication skills, including the ability to communicate professionally by email
Demonstrated ability to work under pressure
Phone etiquette skills required
Ability to follow directions and recipes precisely
