Lead Baker
Position Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Lead Baker to oversee daily production, maintain product quality, and help drive creativity in our bakery program. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen, loves precision, and takes pride in crafting exceptional baked goods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily Production Management
- Prepare and bake a variety of products including breads, pastries, rolls, cookies, and specialty items.
- Oversee the baking schedule to ensure consistency, timeliness, and efficiency.
- Maintain dough production, scaling, shaping, proofing, and finishing.
Quality Control
- Ensure all products meet our standards for taste, texture, appearance, and freshness.
- Regularly refine recipes and improve techniques for better consistency and efficiency.
Leadership & Training
- Lead and support the baking team during shifts.
- Train new bakers on recipes, equipment handling, and kitchen standards.
- Foster a clean, organized, and positive work environment.
Inventory & Ordering
- Track ingredient usage and communicate ordering needs.
- Monitor par levels and minimize waste.
Kitchen Operations
- Ensure all equipment is used correctly and safely.
- Maintain cleanliness and comply with food safety standards and local health codes.
- Assist with menu development and seasonal offerings.
Qualifications:
- 2–4 years of professional baking experience required; leadership experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of doughs, pastries, proofing, and baking fundamentals.
- Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
