JOB SUMMARY:

The person allocated to this position manages & directs the maintenance of the facilities within the restaurant. Job duties may include building maintenance, environmental / safety regulation compliance, grounds maintenance, custodial support, organization of events, space assignments, etc.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Assess the current condition of electrical, air conditioning, plumbing and other essential facilities and equipment.

Maintain accurate records of the condition of the equipment and other systems in the building.

Create a schedule of regular evaluation of the facilities.

Participate in the development of policies and procedures that affect the use of supplies and facilities.

Ensure that all the equipment and other facilities are working properly.

Create monitoring systems or programs in the institution to detect problems as early as possible.

Initiate interventions to solve problems in the facilities.

Develop a system for cleaning, repair and maintenance of facilities.

Develop back-up or alternative systems for common problems such as power shortage.

Ensure the safety of the building or establishment from fire, flood and other hazards.

Initiate an active campaign on safety measures in the building.

Prepare pertinent records and reports for the safety service division of the institution.

Recruiting facilities service staff and training them appropriately to ensure competent work output.

Maintaining the efficiency and good working conditions of the facilities.

Evaluate the work quality of any maintenance staff and other subordinates.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

Due to the cyclical nature of the industry, Employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the property. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.

Upon employment, all Employees are required to fully comply with Zuma rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the facilities. Employees who violate organization rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment

Handle all guest inquiries and follow appropriate procedure.

Performs other job-related duties as directed.

To ensure that any deposits or refunds are handled in the office and clear records kept for accounting purposes.

To distribute all mail to the relevant departments/managers.

To carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned

To work as a team player at all times and be prepared to be flexible in order to ensure that operations are always as efficient and profitable as possible.

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions:

To provide a courteous and professional service with all management, employees, customers and vendors

To maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times.

To have a complete understanding of the restaurant’s employee handbook and adhere to the regulations contained within it.

To develop an open culture of communication, both formal and informal

Have communication skills and organizational skill

Be able to handle stressful situations and be able to prevent and/or handle emergency situations.

A cheerful, positive attitude when working with a variety of people, and be able to work well under pressure.

Strong communication skills with supervisors and team members.

Must be able to read, write and speak English.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION:

Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderated and controlled by facility environmental systems.

Able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for an extended period of time.

Able to lift up to 50lbs. and on a regular and continuing basis.

Able to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull, twist, walk, crouch, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks.

Manual dexterity required to use and operate all necessary equipment.

Talking, hearing and seeing (vision) occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, Supervisors and other Employees.
