Job Description:
The Registered Nurse / Care Supervisor shall be responsible for supervision of care services including but not limited to:
1. Overseeing development of written plans of services, in collaboration with the patient and patient's family.
2. Providing direction and guidance regarding standards of care practice; serves as a mentor;
3. Directing home attendant and home health aides staff;
4. Assisting the Administrator and the Alternate Administrator with establishing policies and procedures on patient care services, guidelines for safety, universal precautions, infection control procedures, admission to service, case assignments and case management;
5. Providing supervisory visits to patient homes of home health aide cases only if the patient approves and pays for supervisory visits.
The Registered Nurse may assign selected portions of patient care to licensed practical nurses and home health aides but always retains the full responsibility for the care given and for making supervisory visits to the patient’s home.
Job, Educational, and Certification Requirements:
-A registered nurse (RN) shall be currently licensed in the state of Florida.
-Has at least one (1) year of supervision as an RN.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Second language welcome, but must be able to communicate in English with admin staff.
-Strong supervisory skills. Ability to mentor and motivate staff.
-A registered nurse (RN) shall complete the initial assessment and admission for home health services. Supervision of services shall be provided as often as necessary and as determined by the Agency’s and the patient's needs.
-The assessment of the registered nurse of the written policies not to exceed 90 days.
