Server Engineer - Backup Experience (Dell EMC) Avamar
Remote
Contract - 6 months

Motion Recruitment has partnered with a global Infrastructure Services organization in the search to identify a Backup Engineer for a strategic project. This project involves a migration from Commvault to a production site Dell EMC Avamar IDPA solution. In this role, you will examine current backup policies and procedures, provide a gap analysis, create a migration strategy and design new backup policies and procedures Other responsibilities include:

• Shift production servers from Commvault backups to IDPA backups in phases
• Setup new backup software on Hyper-V, VMware, or Servers and backup to new IDPA
• Expire backups off current Commvault and Isilon solution- approx. 30 days
• Longer term backups Recovery- Iron Mountain Restoration Assurance used for recovery
• End of Project- Production servers are shifted from Commvault to IDPA

Jump-start Operations to allow the project customer to manage the new environment.

• IDPA job exception analysis and remediation
• Capacity and performance analysis, Restore Testing, Analysis and tuning of schedules, policies, etc.
• Operational documentation such as runbooks, build documentation and/or SOPs

• Expertise with Dell EMC Avamar, Data Domain and IDPA
• In-depth expertise with backup policies and business requirements.
• Experience with DDboost for enterprise applications (Data Domain Bost)
