During this transition period, we encourage you to continue visiting our career site and also check out more career opportunities at Join our journey as we become one global diagnostics leader!The Molecular Biochemist II is responsible for manufacturing in-process and intermediate reagents used in the production of finished goods for the Molecular Manufacturing group.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Maintains the production schedule as determined by area management.Understands and performs all processes in accordance with all required QSOPs and batch records.Maintains appropriate inventory status for all types of intermediate reagents, raw materials, and lab supplies.Records daily production on appropriate batch records, log sheets and other production documentation.Transfer materials using the ERP system.Create work orders and associated item lots within the ERP system.Troubleshoots and helps maintain equipment within the Molecular Manufacturing area.Maintains lab notebook for appropriate processes (Maxi Preps and quantifying concentrations).Aids in production of validation lots for new products.Participates in continuous improvements and corrective and preventive action systems.Ensures a work environment that is safe and clean for production.Provides the Manager with information on the day-to-day activities within the department.Monitors personal daily production and communicates problems to the Manager.Provides assistance across multiple departments within the Operations facility with daily procedures when necessary to promote a teamwork environment.Works within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action and carries out duties in compliance with established business policies.Performs additional duties as assigned.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Bachelor of Science in Biology or other natural science related field, with a minimum of 2-4 years of industry experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.Equipment experience with common laboratory instruments which include but not limited to microscopes, pipettes, centrifuges, and balances.KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:Basic algebra skills.Experience with GMP/GLP requirements, FDA / ISO 13485 standards and/or other regulatory bodies, preferred.Experience with laboratory techniques, such as aseptic methods and dilution, preferred.Experience with clean room environments and requirements, preferred.Technical competence in the production, testing, and troubleshooting activities relating to reagents required.Ability to read, understand and comply with required work instructions.Excellent documentation and record keeping skills.Computer experience with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and a records management system.Before you apply, please make sure you share Quidel' s values.
