Female personal support persons are needed to support a female who has cerebral palsy. The person being supported leads a very full and active life in the community. She lives on the Northside of Athens close to campus.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Must be available for one or more of the following shifts totaling at or below 40 hours/week. For all shifts, punctuality is required. Lateness is not acceptable! Medicaid (the payer) requires all individuals hired to be CPR/Fist Aid Certified and pass a background check. The person(s) must be able to transfer the individual with the support of a hoyer lift from wheelchair to bed and vice versa. If they do not know how, training will be provided. Reliable transportation is necessary to fulfill the required duties, and an efficient method for contacting the person(s) in case of emergencies is also needed. Additionally, although the person being supported works to ensure regularity in scheduling, some flexibility on the part(s) of the employee(s) is a MUST.
Shifts that need coverage:
Every Saturday from 8:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m.
Every other Thursday starting October 3rd from 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
(Oct 3rd, Oct. 17th, Oct. 31st, etc.)
Duties:
Assist with getting in/out of the bed
Assist with bathing
Assist with dressing/undressing
Preparing meals
Cleaning kitchen
Taking out the trash
Sweeping/Mopping
Assist with laundry
Assistance in accessing/participating in recreational, leisure, and life-sustaining (e.g., grocery shopping, doctor appointments) activities
Other tasks as needed
