Help Wanted: Part-Time Facilities Maintenance Technician – Camp Toccoa
Location: Camp Toccoa, Toccoa, Georgia
Job Type: Part-Time, Seasonal (Approx. 20 hours/week)
Pay: $12–$15/hour, based on qualifications and experience
Reports to: Camp Director
Camp Toccoa is seeking a Part-Time Facilities Maintenance Technician to help keep our beautiful summer camp facility safe, clean, and running smoothly throughout the summer season.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys outdoor work, has basic maintenance skills, and wants to be part of a meaningful camp environment without being involved in activity programming. Our traditional, non-religious camp is almost 100 years old and includes a swimming pool, lake, cabins and bath houses for campers, and a historic lodge.
Primary Responsibilities:
Perform general upkeep and light repairs on camp buildings and facilities, including trash collection and stocking bathroom supplies
Handle basic landscape maintenance including mowing
Conduct daily swimming pool maintenance (cleaning, chemical testing, and adjustments)
Maintain tools and report any equipment needs to the Camp Director
Identify and report facility issues that require professional repair
Qualifications:
Experience with basic building, grounds, or pool maintenance
Willingness to learn simple pool care (training provided)
Ability to work independently and follow instructions
Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing outdoor labor
Dependable, safety-conscious, and detail-oriented
Able to pass background check
Schedule & Pay:
Approximately 20 hours per week
Flexible scheduling within camp operating hours
Seasonal position (start immediately, end August 2025). Possibility of extension into autumn.
$12–$15/hour, depending on experience
