Primary Location: 6305 Peachtree Dunwoody Rd, Atlanta, GA, USA Division: Cox Communications Job Level: Manager/Senior Manager Travel: No Schedule: Full-time Shift: Day Job Requisition Number: 217448 Role Summary: Cox Communications is looking for a Data Engineering Manager who will be a core member of the Analytics Center of Excellence, reporting to the Director of Data Engineering. This role will be instrumental in the long-term growth initiative of defining and building out advanced analytics, data science, and data engineering capabilities. The Manager is charged with supporting initiatives within our Analytics CoE, mobilizing a high performing data engineering team, and enabling analytics solution development and delivery at scale.
Responsibilities:
Lead efforts to produce value from Cox Communications structured/unstructured data assets utilizing data engineering methodologies in AWS
Provide hands-on technical leadership in data engineering design and implementations including data ingestion, data models, data structures, data storage, high-throughput data processing, data pipelines, and data monitoring at scale
Lead and mentor a high performing and engaged data engineering team. Drive clear communication, visibility, collaboration, and accountability within the team
Support opportunities to advance data driven decision making, automation, and to streamline business processes
Effectively partner and communicate with teams to remove blockers and propel delivery
Liaise with key stakeholders within client teams to champion analytics

5+ years of experience in a data engineering role
3+ years of experience designing and managing data engineering projects
Strong programming skills and ability to utilize a variety of software/languages/tools, e.g., Spark, Python, Scala, Java, C, Hive, SQL, etc.
Experience developing and managing enterprise grade analytics solutions using Cloud platforms (i.e. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.) at every stage of the analytics lifecycle from ideation to production
Strong communication skills. The ability to comprehend and communicate advanced data engineering concepts, business insights, and resulting implications to non-technical business partners. Ability to work in a diverse team
Deep understanding of data domains, models, and implications for analytics use in at least one industry including telecommunications, cable, finance, media, advertising, or similar
Preferred:
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or closely related field.
Experience within telecommunications and/or cable industry
Knowledge and experience with AWS Services including CloudWatch, EventBridge, EC2, EMR, RedShift, SQS, RDS, Neptune, Service Catalog, IAM, API Gateway
Practical experience applying advanced data engineering approaches to mass transaction reduction and customer experience optimization
Experience in data visualization solutions and tools
