Job Summary:

The Assistant Manager at Urban Grind plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of the coffee shop.

This position involves providing excellent customer service, supervising staff, managing daily operations, and assisting the Store Manager in achieving business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

- Greet and assist customers with their orders.

- Ensure a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for patrons.

- Address customer inquiries and concerns in a professional manner.

Staff Supervision:

- Train and onboard new team members.

- Schedule and manage employee shifts and labor cost

- Provide guidance and support to staff members

- Assign performance goals for the team

- Monitor employee performance and provide feedback.

- Manage rewards and experiences that engage the team and cultivate teamwork

- Manage communication to the team

Daily Operations:

- Direct opening, transitions and closing of the coffee shop.

- Maintain inventory levels and place orders as needed.

- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the coffee shop to include assigning and managing tasks and holding team accountable.

- Implement health and safety protocols.

-Implement equipment preventive maintenance procedures

Quality Control:

- Ensure the quality of coffee and food products.

- Monitor food and beverage preparation to meet standards.

- Address any issues related to product quality promptly.

Customer Engagement:

- Promote sales, loyalty programs and customer engagement initiatives.

- Gather customer feedback and relay it to management.

- Suggest and implement strategies to enhance customer service.

Financial Management:

- Assist in budgeting and cost control efforts.

- Monitor sales, track and report on financial performance.

- Support in achieving revenue and profit targets.

Marketing and Promotion:

- Collaborate with the management and/or marketing team to execute promotions and events.

- Help develop and implement marketing strategies at the store level.

Compliance:

- Ensure compliance with local health codes and regulations.

- Uphold company policies and procedures.

- Address any compliance issues promptly.

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role, preferably in a coffee shop or food service industry.

- Knowledge of coffee

- Minimum 1 year Barista experience

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Can effectively motive & drive a team

- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

- Proficiency in basic computer applications

- Exceptional customer service skills
