Female Live-In Personal Care Assistant/Roommate Needed for April Move

Hello,

My name is Cassandra Saunders. I am a 40-year-old entrepreneur with Cerebral Palsy who doesn't let anything stand in her way. My main industry is music. However, I also work as a writer as well as in the multimedia and technical spaces. You are not required to have a background in any of these fields to apply for this position, however, I felt compelled to lead with that to help you better understand this posting. And if you ever wanted to learn any of my skills, I would be totally open to teaching you.

I am moving to Conyers because as I stated I mainly work in the music industry and Atlanta is a major hub for entertainment companies, and I have friends and family that live around the area. The reason I am looking for a live-in Personal Care Assistant (PCA) as my roommate is because my situation is one-of-a-kind and due to actions of people who have previously worked with me, this is the best path for me. I do not quite know when my move-in date is but will inform the applicant(s) who make my short list as soon as I receive that information. It is definitely some time in April though.

IMPORTANT: there will be no dogs allowed in the house because I am deathly afraid of them. Cats are perfectly fine.

I am looking for a female who has a basic understanding of PCA work, while also being willing to learn about my specific needs and routines. You are not required to do any lifting because I have a hoyer. You will be taught my shower, morning and night routines and as we get more comfortable in them, we can adapt them to whatever works for us as a team.

Because of my work in the music industry, there is a fair amount of traveling and my working hours are not typical. Therefore, having previous work experience with overnight hours would be beneficial.

I am a record label executive, which means that I have to make sure that releases are set up properly and on release days, that they are posted to social media as well as the label website at 12 AM Eastern. When I am not doing an event or interview, I have no problem doing the night routine between 1:00 and 1:30 AM. Whenever I have to do a late interview, or we have to travel, times will be dependent on when whatever is happening is over. I will make you aware of my schedule to the best of my ability at all times.

I'd like my morning routine to begin between 11 AM and 12 PM. However, whenever you or I have something to do in the mornings, that can be earlier. I have no problem functioning on seven or eight hours of sleep. As a matter of fact, I tend to wake up before being woken up so I don't see any problems ever happening in relation to mornings.

When we travel outside of Georgia, all expenses will be paid by me. Because of the nature of the music industry, there will be security whenever we go to industry-related events.

Although I have no dietary restrictions, I only eat chicken, turkey and seafood. The person who works with me should have a basic understanding of cooking and healthy eating. If you are not comfortable in the kitchen, we can look into different meal kit delivery services and other options to keep us both healthy. In addition to everything I mentioned above, I am also a health and wellness consultant and my goal is to make as many people around me and in my community as healthy as possible.

We will be living in a house where whoever I choose for this position will get free room and board, with a $600 biweekly or $1200 monthly stipend. (It is probable that this amount will be able to be increased when I am approved for Georgia PCA hours). This is so that I can use the remainder of the money to pay what would be your portion of the rent, as well as the rest of the house bills. I have done the research and the hourly rate for PCAs in Georgia is almost identical to that of Massachusetts (where I'm moving from). You are not required to stay with me all hours of the day so if you need more income you are free to get a side job.

When you apply for this position, I will need to perform a background check and you will be required to sign a contract that outlines the housing and payment terms put forth in this ad as well as states that you shall give me a month's notice before leaving the position. Interviews will be conducted via Zoom. If you make my short list of applicants, I will provide you with a link to fill out a secure form with your personal information for the background check. I will choose the person that best fits the qualifications by April 3, 2024.

I look forward to speaking with you soon!
