JOB SUMMARY:
The medical billing and collection specialist will be responsible for ensuring accurate billing, timely submission of electronic and/or paper claims, monitoring claim status, researching rejections and denials, documenting related account activities, posting payments and adjustments from payers. The medical billing and collection specialist must possess critical thinking skills and understand payer eligibility requirements and contractual reimbursements for all payers including Medicaid and commercial insurance. In addition, the medical billing and collection specialist must demonstrate proficiency with billing system (EMR/HER) to ensure all functionalities are utilized for the efficient processing of claims. Position will have office management responsibilities. Bi-lingual (English & Spanish) a plus.
