Our behavioral clinic is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Receptionist/front desk/intake coordinator to join our team. This role is not just about administrative support, but about being the first point of contact for our patients and visitors, making it a significant part of our team.
Job Duties
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage the appointment calendar for the providers
- Collect and update patient information, including demographic and insurance details
- Verify insurance coverage and process the necessary paperwork
- Maintain patient records and ensure accuracy of information
- Assist with collecting copays/payments
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to maintain patient confidentiality
- Coordinate with healthcare providers to ensure smooth patient flow
- Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails and faxes
- Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, and data entry
- May assist in liaise between practice and other facilities/practices as needed
Requirements
To excel in this role, the ideal candidate should possess the following skills:
- Previous experience in a medical receptionist or administrative support role preferred
- Proficient in medical scheduling
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient privacy requirements
