Scholarship:

Honoring JT Brown with a Legacy of Training & Opportunity. ISA proudly announced the JT Brown Memorial EP Scholarship, a $1,000 training scholarship created to honor the life and legacy of JT Brown—a friend, alumnus, and instructor who passed away in May 2025.

JT’s journey with ISA began in 2017, when as a 27-year-old agent in Chicago, he brought our state-approved executive protection training to his city. From that first class to his work as an assistant instructor candidate, JT embodied professionalism, humility, and a commitment to doing things the right way. He never forgot the value of networking and mentorship, often referring and encouraging new students to pursue proper training.

To carry on that spirit, this scholarship will be awarded to new executive protection agents who are just beginning their careers and seeking state-approved training and licensing. Applicants will be selected based on their passion, integrity, and potential to contribute to the protection industry—values JT lived every day.

Eligibility highlights:

New to the executive protection industry (or lacking state-approved credentials)

Under 30 years of age (with limited waivers available)

No criminal or domestic violence history

Must submit a biography, essay, and complete an interview with industry leaders who knew JT.

The JT Brown Memorial Scholarship ensures that the next generation of protectors has the same opportunity JT created for himself and so many others.

Applications due for the Atlanta course by September 12, 2025.
