SPLIT SHIFT DRIVER 6AM/3PM / Transporting individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities. Following vehicle maintenance and safety protocols. Assisting and supporting individuals with behavioral supports as needed. Vehicle record/log documentation. Safety transporting individuals on routes, conducting daily vehicle inspections, maintaining discipline, following traffic laws, and reporting mechanical issues.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Picking up and dropping off individuals on schedule, observing defensive driving practices.
Conduct daily pre-trip and post trip safety inspections ( lights, tires, brakes, fuel, oil). Report needed repairs, and maintain vehicle cleanliness. Maintain discipline, monitor individual behavior, enforce organization rules, and determine appropriate action in emergencies. Complete mileage reports, passenger counts, and incident reports. Communicate effectively with individuals, parents, and staff member. Attend required safety meetings, training, and first aid updates.
Qualifications: Valid Driver's License ( CDL License is not required). Previous driving experience preferably with large vehicles and individuals with disabilities. Excellent communication, ability to remain calm, physical dexterity, and knowledge of traffic laws. Punctual, reliable, patient, and responsible. Ability to sit for extended periods, lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs, and have fine finger dexterity for controls. Operates in various weather conditions, with potential for loud environments and interruptions.
High School Diploma / GED, Must be able to past a criminal background check and drug screening.
