In this role, you will be responsible for planning, application of standards and coordinating services of planned maintenance and construction jobs in order to minimize costs and production downtime by the proper use of craft manpower, materials and services. You will determine manpower required for construction, major maintenance and routine maintenance projects to properly utilize the manning in assigned areas. You will also plan major plant turnarounds and promote effective planning and scheduling techniques.As a Maintenance Planner, you create chemistry by
Analyzing Maintenance and/or Engineering work requests, job orders and work releases, for clarity as to what is requested. You may contact the originator to clear up points in question.
Managing the backlog of unplanned work – review the backlog and planning list, clarify incomplete or unclear work notifications, group work orders/notifications together to be completed as a single order, and determine the appropriate degree of planning.
Being a subject matter expert for the ordering, knowledge and whereabouts of the materials needed for planned jobs, you will perform field walk downs with the appropriate resources to define work scope and requirements. This includes consideration and written plan of the materials, special tools, craft sequence, and time required to perform the job. You may also be required to help expediting material for emergency work.
Successfully engaging within the organization, you may review planned job with Maintenance Supervision. You will also initiate and conduct meetings with maintenance service and production personnel as required.
Maintaining records of and use predetermined time values, engineering standards and work performance for developing repetitive jobs. You will also update BOM’s as required, update maintenance files to ensure accuracy in future planning, and develop & track craft/crew backlogs and track work orders to completion.
Understanding and taking into consideration corporate safety policies and the Union-Management agreement, you will oversee the pre-kitting of parts for planned work and supervise the personnel doing job scopes for future projects.
Following the progress of selected jobs, seeking solutions to problem areas which delay work and seeking improvements on the scheduled activities, checking materials, etc.
Taking corrective action for controllable problems, suggest safety practices, and evaluate data for improving maintenance costs.
Working with user/customers to establish priorities.
If you
Hold minimum a HS Diploma or GED
Have 2-3 years of mechanical, industrial or chemical experience.
Analytical and strong communication skills
Strong work management and strong problem-solving skills
Strong computer skills and keen attention to detail (SAP knowledge preffered).
