Job Overview
We are looking for a dependable and experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team in Richmond, GA. This role involves a wide range of land management and site development activities, including forestry mulching, land clearing, and excavation. The ideal candidate will be confident operating machinery across various terrains and in both residential and commercial environments.
Key Responsibilities
Operate and maintain heavy equipment such as skid steers, excavators, tractors, and mulchers
Perform forestry mulching and vegetation removal on properties ranging from 1 to 500 acres
Grade land using a skid steer with precision for site prep and finish work
Lay sod efficiently and professionally as part of landscape restoration
Mow and maintain steep slopes around detention and retention ponds
Support tree removal and lawn care operations as needed
Prepare house pads for residential construction
Work with local grading companies on commercial land clearing and site preparation
Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform basic maintenance
Adhere to all safety protocols and environmental guidelines on job sites
Qualifications
Proven experience operating heavy equipment in varied terrain and conditions
Must have experience grading with a skid steer and laying sod
Knowledge of forestry mulching and land clearing techniques
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Physically capable of working outdoors in diverse weather conditions
Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required)
Strong attention to detail and a solid work ethic
