Workday Student Functional Administrator Posting Number S01368JP Department Information Technology Job Summary Workday Student Functional Administrator is responsible for managing and optimizing Workday Student module, with a focus on functionalities supporting the Bursar’s Office, Office of the Dean of Student Affairs, Office of the Dean of Academic Affairs (excluding the Registrar’s Office), and the Student Aid Office. This role entails maintaining and improving Workday capabilities, including security administration, report writing and administration, and business process (BP) administration, to ensure the system meets the operational needs of these offices.The position reports to the Associate Director, ERP Services under the IT Department and works collaboratively with cross-functional administrators to support and enhance Workday functionalities. The role ensures compliance with Bowdoin’s ERP guidelines and Workday best practices while providing high-quality support and delivering innovative solutions.Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a matter expert for Workday Student, specifically focusing on Student Financials, Student Affairs, and Academic Affairs functionalities within Workday.
Manage and configure Workday security roles and permissions for designated offices, ensuring data integrity and compliance with institutional policies.
Collaborate with Workday ERP team, other Workday functional administrator and cross-functional teams, including Finance, Academic Affairs, and Student Affairs and Student Aid, to understand business needs and provide tailored solutions within Workday.
Develop, maintain, and administer custom and standard Workday reports tailored to the requirements of Student Financials, Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, and Student Aid.
Stay updated on Workday releases and evaluate new features to recommend enhancements aligned with organizational goals.
Design, configure, test, and optimize Workday business processes to streamline operations and improve user experience.

Education/Skills Requirements
Associates degree in computer science or related field.
Strong proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences, with the ability to build strong relationships.
Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience managing cross-functional teams and multiple external vendors
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate challenges and devise effective solutions.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a dynamic environment with a high degree of flexibility.
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
Advanced degree or Project Management Professional ( PMP ) certification.
Workday Student Pro certification.
Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents
Minimum of 4-7 years of experience in project management, with a proven track record of successfully managing large-scale IT projects, ideally Workday implementations.
Proficiency in analyzing and resolving Workday-related issues, including security, reporting, and business processes.
Extensive experience with Workday Student functionalities, with a strong focus on Student Financials.
Self-motivated and eager to learn, with a commitment to continuous improvement of processes and tools.
Proven proficiency in software testing, documentation, integration, and providing system support.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to collaborate effectively with various departments and stakeholders.
Workday report writer and administration training.
Proven experience as a Workday Functional Administrator, preferably in the student module.
Strong background in Student Financials, Academic Affairs, and Student Aid functionalities.
Preferred:
7+ years of experience in project management, with a proven track record of successfully managing large-scale IT projects, ideally Workday implementations.
Experience with Workday HCM , Finance, or other modules is highly desirable.
Experience with Agile or Scrum frameworks

Monday through Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm.
