Description SENIOR TAX ACCOUNTANT - Well-Respected Public Accounting Firm in Buford, GA A growing public accounting firm is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant with a strong tax and accounting background. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to take on varied assignments while leading and mentoring junior staff. In this role, you will work independently, provide valuable insights to clients, and contribute to the continued growth of the firm.Position Overview: As a Senior Accountant, you will handle tax preparation, accounting tasks, and other assignments as directed. You will be responsible for managing your own workload while mentoring junior staff, solving complex problems, and building relationships with clients. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, highly organized, and has extensive experience in public accounting.Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with team members to complete project assignments and engagement tasks.
Identify client needs and recommend actionable solutions.
Provide training and mentorship to junior staff.
Prepare various tax forms (1040, 1041, 1120, 1120S, 1065) and manage payroll/reporting requirements.
Conduct tax research and stay updated on changes in tax laws.
Compile and review financial statements for small and mid-sized businesses.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts and analyze financial statements.
Use accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, CCH ProSytems FX, etc.) to streamline processes and maintain accuracy.
Manage multiple projects and deliver timely results.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Master’s degree preferred).
CPA eligibility or active CPA license preferred.
3-5 years of public accounting experience (more is a plus).
Strong understanding of accounting and tax principles.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Exceptional analytical, organizational, and project management abilities.
Proven ability to mentor and manage junior staff.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
