CNA Private Care

Looking for a very special person for my parents. We have Thursday thru Monday with every other Sunday off, 7a-7p available.

This person must be kind with a sense of humor, experienced, capable of transfers and heavy lifting. Caregiver will be part of a team and must work together as a team member. My parents live in Fortson, Georgia, just outside of Columbus.

We have been trying to replace our caregiver who was accepted to RN school and we are having a difficult time. My parents are very nice and sociable, live in a nice home, so it's a pretty happy work environment. The difficulty we're having is my mom cannot bear weight on her feet and is a total lift for transfers. She weighs about 150 lb. Our current caregiving staff is trained and capable of transferring her from bed to chair. We also have a hoyer lift - they prefer not to use it. My dad uses the transfer board to get to his scooter chair from bed and back, but it does require some muscle for helping him turn and position- he's a large man. We are considering bringing in 2 caregivers at $14/hr - one for 7-3 and one for 7a-p on Fridays, Saturdays, Mondays and every other Sunday, or continue with one caregiver for those same hours at $21/hr.

Dad: 95 years old. Alert, no dementia. Enjoys people - he’s a big tease and loves to joke. Retired UGA professor. Was able to transfer/independent until he took a bad fall, compound fractures of leg and had to have the leg amputated. Now transfers to scooter chair with a sliding board and assistance. Has a suprapubic catheter for urine; needs toileting and bathing help by caregiver. Gets up in the morning into chair; fixes breakfast and is independent until he goes back to bed about 2pm. He’ll call if he needs anything and will need dinner brought to him. So he’s a lot of care 1st thing in the morning and relatively easy after that.

Mom: 91. Loves company, very sweet and social - requires patience though because she has some dementia and will ask the same questions over and over. She weighs about 150lbs and needs total assistance to transfer from bed to chair/chair to commode. Wears Depends - usually continent of stool.

Feeds herself but needs encouragement to get up and dress; needs meds and meals brought to her. Gets up in the morning , goes back with Dad to nap; gets back up to her chair and watches tv till early evening.

Need a very dependable cheerful person. There is a cat in the home . Light housekeeping and laundry required. My sister lives close and comes by frequently and transports my parents to their appointments, takes dad to the grocery store, and takes them out to eat frequently.

If you think you would be the right fit for Mom and Dad, please message back (email or text please) to discuss further.

Thanks
