Need a caring, responsible caregiver with experience for my 97-year-old dad in his home in North Columbus, Georgia.
Right now the only regular hours are 7a-p every other Saturday, but other hours are available PRN when the FT caregivers need off.
This person must be kind with a sense of humor, experienced, capable of transfers and heavy lifting. Caregiver will be part of a team and must work together as a team member.
My Dad is very nice and sociable, lives in a nice home, so it's a pretty happy work . Our current caregiving staff is trained and capable of transferring him from bed to chair. My dad uses the transfer board to get to his scooter chair from bed and back, but it does require some muscle for helping him turn and position- he's a large man.
Dad is 97 years old. Alert, no dementia. Enjoys people - he’s a big tease and loves to joke. Retired UGA professor. Was able to transfer/independent until he took a bad fall, compound fractures of leg and had to have the leg amputated. Now transfers to scooter chair with a sliding board and assistance. Has a suprapubic catheter for urine; needs toileting and bathing help by caregiver. Gets up in the morning into chair; fixes breakfast and is independent until he goes back to bed about 2pm. He’ll call if he needs anything and will need dinner brought to him. So he’s a lot of care 1st thing in the morning and relatively easy after that.
Need a very dependable cheerful person. There is a cat in the home . Light housekeeping and laundry required. My sister lives close and comes by frequently and transports my parents to their appointments, etc.
If you think you would be the right fit, please message back (email or text please) to discuss further.
Thanks
