job detailsThe Shipping/Receiving Lead plays a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the shipping and receiving department. This position involves overseeing day-to-day activities, coordinating with team members, and assisting with the processing of incoming and outgoing shipments. The Shipping/Receiving Lead reports to the Shipping/Receiving Supervisor and provides support in various aspects of warehouse logistics.salary: $18.5 - $20 per hourshift: Firstwork hours: 4 AM - 2 PMeducation: High SchoolResponsibilities
Assist the Shipping/Receiving Supervisor in coordinating the activities of the shipping and receiving team.
Provide guidance and training to team members on proper shipping and receiving procedures.
Assist with loading and unloading trucks, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in handling goods.
Inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and quality, addressing any discrepancies or issues as needed.
Prepare shipping documents, labels, and other paperwork required for outgoing shipments.
Coordinate with carriers and logistics providers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
Monitor inventory levels and assist with cycle counts and physical inventories as necessary.
Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks safely and efficiently.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies in the shipping and receiving area.
Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure smooth workflow.
Assist in resolving any customer inquiries or complaints related to shipping and receiving.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the shipping and receiving area.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize shipping and receiving processes.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Shipping/Receiving Supervisor or management.
