Evidence Custodian/ Case File Manager

Amentum is currently seeking a Forensic Case File Manager to support our customer in Ft. Gillem, GA and OCONUS locations.The salary range for this position will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

Monitor forensic laboratory cases received. Interact closely with all divisions, encompassing the work of scientific professionals and administrative employees. Maintain surveillance of workload and programs in progress throughout the laboratory.

Works with little to no supervision, but keeps the lead advised of unusual situations and potential problem areas and recommends courses of action and/or conclusive actions.

Monitor laboratory workload, collect and maintain data related to customer service quality including productivity, timeliness, and level of customer satisfaction.

Manage laboratory evidence processing operation and facility. Ensure all evidence submitted to the laboratory is handled in accordance with all Army, Federal, and local regulations.

Monitor adherence to evidence handling procedures; ensures 100% accountability of evidence received and ensures submitting agencies are kept apprised of case status and given prompt and accurate responses to inquiries and requests.

Act as quality control for all forensic casework performed to ensure compliance with regulations, policies, and organizational standards.

Assist with the development of policies, plans and procedures that impact the lab's overall operational function. Identifies needs and requirements.

Serve as a liaison with Department of Defense (DOD), Department of Justice (DOJ) and other agencies and organizations on matters relating to forensic/biometric requirements in CONUS and OCONUS locations.

Collaborate and coordinate with DOD, law enforcement agencies, deployed laboratories, and the Forensic Exploitation Department (FXD) management regarding standardization to enhance the efficiencies of the laboratories.

Required Qualifications:

Two (2) years of experience in the following areas: maintenance of evidentiary integrity and chain of custody; preparation of examination requests; and preparing, transmitting, and receiving mail evidence packages.

Ability to effectively communicate in writing and orally. (i.e. experience in writing technical reports, presenting briefs).

Fully functional in the use of Microsoft applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.

Ability to utilize web-based applications, entering and extracting data for the purposes of tracking and reporting on case files.

Must be able to successfully pass a skills assessment.

Able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance.

Must be able to obtain a US passport.

Must be able to complete and pass a medical assessment per customer requirements.

Desired Qualifications:

An overall knowledge of general chain of custody and evidence handling procedures. Knowledge of AR 195-5 is desired.

An overall knowledge of computer operations, networking, and file transfer.

Ability to absorb, organize and analyze information to solve problems and formulate solutions.

Prior military experience preferred, experience working with an OIF/OEF Laboratory, TEDAC facility, or other NGIC, DoD or ATF Lab; interagency or state/local law enforcement forensics labs preferred.
