Overview and Essential FunctionsLooking for an opportunity to make a difference? Then you may have found your next career move. We’re looking for Directional Drill Laborers (based out of Marietta, Lithia Springs, and Rome, GA) to join our team and help connect America.What you'll do:May drives/Operate Horizontal Directional Drill for installation of underground telecommunications cable conduit, including fiber optic cable
May drive and/or operate diesel or gasoline powered equipment to/from/on jobsite (Backhoe, Trencher, Directional Bore, Digger Derrick, Pole/Bucket Truck)
Locates other buried wiring/cabling
Install underground telecommunications cabling
Performs general construction work (to include physical labor i.e. using hand tools, lifting materials on average up to 50 lbs, etc.) under direction of Foreman/Supervisor
Flagging (directing safe coordination of vehicles and equipment within general public areas where worksites are active)
Property or worksite restoration
Hand dig using shovel, mechanical tools
Climb into and out of equipment (trucks, cars, backhoes, trenchers, etc.)
May work in congested or remote areas
Maintain visual and audible contact with other crewman and all moving or stationary persons/vehicles/objects to ensure safe coordination of movement
Maintain safe working habits/conditions according to all regulations, procedures and policies
Performs all tasks according to directions, produce quality work, maintain safe working habits/conditions according to all Federal, State, and Company regulations and policies
Performs other duties as necessary
QualificationsWho we are looking for:You are at least 18 years old
You are authorized to work in the United States for this company
You have prior experience within the Telecommunications or Utility Construction/Maintenance industry
You have valid Driver's License (CDL preferred)
You are able to operate various types of utility trucks and equipment in a safe manner
You are able to use hand tools and equipment in a safe manner
You are able to read prints and interpret utility maps to identify the type and size of underground utilities
You are able to demonstrate ability to follow directions, produce quality work, maintain safe working habits/conditions according to all Federal, State, and Company regulations and policies
You are able to communicate effectively with customers, employees, etc.
You are able to demonstrate ability to maintain positive working relationships both internally and externally
You are able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as needed with or without assistance
You are able to work as needed (over-time, after hours, on weekends, for emergencies or on-call)
You are able to maintain a safe work environment
You are able to work in all weather conditions
