Human Resources GeneralistPosition DescriptionJob SummaryWhat’s the job?Under the direction of the Human Resources Manager, this position participates with plant management and supervision promoting and leading positive employee relations throughout the plant. This position is responsible for the day-to-day execution of HR, Payroll, Benefit, Workers Comp, Compliance and Leave Management responsibilities. This position exists to support HR and Plant management to achieve an issues-free, safe and healthy work environment at the Peachtree City, GA facility.
Employee Relations
Maintain frequent, regular and visible presence to support Peachtree City workforce and to facilitate resolution on any employee issue
Provide direction, coaching and counsel to supervisors and employees
Participate with plant management and HR management in scheduled meetings
Oversee and coordinate employee issues through the Work Life Committee
Execute various day-to-day employee relations functions
Coordinate all Key HR and Plant Communication Systems – evaluate communication mediums and content
Verify the attendance process and point system is being administered correctly and communicate the deficiencies as needed
Ensure accurate recordkeeping (electronically and paper files)
Assist in conducting the Annual Open Enrollment meetings
Responsible for new hire orientation to include training/educating employees on benefits enrollment choices and election options
Troubleshoot benefit issues – help desk process
Oversee salaried internal/external staffing
Temporary Help coordination, posting processes, interview coordination and selection, background checks, applicant tracking, conduct New Employee Training
Aid Regional HR Manager in developing/delivering on-going training to supervision and the (workforce (Diversity, Sexual Harassment, Conflict Resolution, Coaching and Feedback, Building High Performing Teams, Safety etc.)
FMLA, STD, LTD coordination and communications (employee/supervision)
WC Claims management and modified duty programs and coordination
Required QualificationsWhat do you bring?
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related area - concentration in HR studies a plus
Three (3) to five (5) years Human Resources experience in a manufacturing environment.
Must have a complete and thorough understanding of general business concepts in operations, all of which relate to this position either directly or indirectly.
Must have the ability to effectively interact with plant management personnel as well as the hourly and salaried workforce.
Must project a calm approach to diffuse sometimes emotionally charged situations, using common sense, an appropriate sense of humor, and professional discernment.
Must have strong organizational, analytical, interpersonal and written/oral communication skills
Strong computer skills and have knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. PeopleSoft and Kronos knowledge is a plus.
