Description Robert Half is in search of a Sr. Accountant to join our client in Ringgold, Georgia. As a Sr. Accountant, you will be responsible for creating an operational budget, managing grant funding, and ensuring compliance with general accounting practices. This role is a short-term contract employment opportunity that involves working closely with managers to develop the organizational budget, reviewing proposals, and preparing financial reports.Responsibilities: Collaborate with managers to develop the organizational budget Review and validate proposals for accuracy and compliance with financial standards Consolidate the organizational budget and prepare it for review Closely monitor spending to ensure the organization stays within its set budget Prepare detailed reports and estimate future financial needs Support budget recommendations with data and evidence-based analyses Track and resolve any discrepancies in payments, charges made on credit cards, and record any returns Establish and maintain a financial filing system that is easily accessible Prepare and present accounting reports to senior management Ensure the accuracy of financial statements and verify the final figures on statements Assist in balancing the office/department budget using QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel.Requirements Understanding and experience in account reconciliation is required for this role. Must be proficient in balance sheet reconciliation. Knowledge and experience in bank reconciliations is necessary. Familiarity with general ledger tasks and responsibilities is essential. Must have the ability to prepare and understand journal entries. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required, including advanced features and formulas. Experience in month end close procedures is necessary.
