Superior Skilled Trades is seeking Onshore Deckhands for an immediate start in Savannah, GA!
PAY: $26-$28/hour (based upon experience)
HOURS: Shifts will be 8-hour workdays, 5 days per week (40+ hours/ week)
SCHEDULE: Workdays will be Monday-Friday; 7:00am – 3:30pm (There will be OT)
START DATE: ASAP
DURATION: temp-to-hire
About the Role:
As an Onshore Deckhand, you will play a crucial role in supporting our marine operations by performing a variety of tasks related to vessel maintenance, cargo handling, and dock operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Vessel Maintenance:
Clean and maintain decks, equipment, and other vessel areas.
Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as painting, greasing, and minor repairs.
Assist with vessel preparation for departure and arrival.
Cargo Handling:
Load and unload cargo, supplies, and equipment safely and efficiently.
Secure cargo to prevent damage during transport.
Operate and maintain cargo handling equipment.
Dock Operations:
Assist with vessel docking and undocking procedures.
Handle lines and cables during mooring and unmooring operations.
Maintain a clean and organized dock area.
Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Participate in safety drills and training.
Report any safety hazards.
General Labor:
Perform general labor tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
May assist with construction projects.
Maintain tools and equipment.
Assist other crew members as needed.
Qualifications:
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
Excellent communication skills.
Requirements:
Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience.
Must pass a background check and drug screening.
Must have a valid driver's license.
