Manufacturing Quality Engineer

Job Title: Manufacturing Quality EngineerJob DescriptionWe are seeking a Manufacturing Quality Engineer for a client in Tallapoosa, GA. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the final product leaving the facility meets quality standards. The individual will support in-house customer plant quality concerns and will be involved in technical leadership, new model development, equipment management, statistical analysis, and regular reporting.Responsibilities

Serve as Technical Unit Lead

Act as Department New Model Lead

Lead Equipment Unit

Perform statistical analysis

Prepare weekly and monthly reports

Support departmental business needs

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate and resolve quality issues

Conduct root cause analysis using methods such as the 5 Why's

Prepare presentations and communicate findings effectively

Essential Skills

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics

Experience with quality management systems and manufacturing engineering

Strong root cause analysis skills

Effective planning and organizational skills

Attention to detail and self-sufficiency

Logical thinking and problem-solving skills

Proficiency in PFMEA, PFD, and PPAP

Experience with 8D problem-solving methodology

Capability to create work instructions and manage Bill of Materials

Knowledge of 5S and lean manufacturing principles

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)

Experience with Six Sigma or Green Belt certification

Ability to design fixtures and work with transmissions

Automotive industry experience (preferred but not required)

Skills in putting together presentations

Work EnvironmentThe team consists of 7 members and has recently undergone restructuring. The work environment involves a mix of office meetings (50-60%) and hands-on work in the TQ area.
