Sheladia Associates is seeking an experienced Environmental & Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) Specialist to support an upcoming international irrigation and water resources infrastructure project funded by leading international financial institutions.The selected expert will support the preparation of environmental and social safeguards documentation for the rehabilitation and modernization of large-scale irrigation infrastructure, ensuring compliance with international lender requirements and national environmental legislation.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the preparation and review of Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs).Prepare Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMPs) and other environmental and social safeguard documentation.Assess environmental and social risks and recommend mitigation measures.Coordinate environmental and social baseline studies and field investigations.Support stakeholder engagement activities and public consultations.Prepare or contribute to:Biodiversity Action PlansCultural Heritage Management PlansStakeholder Engagement Plans (SEPs)Livelihood Restoration Plans (LRPs)Resettlement-related environmental documentation, as applicableCoordinate with multidisciplinary engineering, environmental, and social teams throughout the design process.Ensure compliance with applicable national legislation and international environmental and social standards.Support preparation of environmental documentation required for tender packages.
