We are looking for talented Cost Control person who is great with establishing budgets!
Construction Cost Engineers work in project teams to establish budgets, coordinate pre-plans, and then manage changes, budget risks, and cost forecast to results so that project teams can measure progress, report status, communicate with stockholders, and plan to achieve with nor surprises or deviations from the financial planning.
Organize and analyze cost reports for projects, including identification of variances and trends and earned value progress measurement
Monitor and maintain the accuracy of project cost estimates, expenditures, and forecasts
Participate in client, internal project management and departmental meetings concerning project cost analysis
Implement project cost reduction plans and project estimates at completion
Prepare detailed breakdowns and reports based on orders, invoices and expenditures
Ensure that objectives specified for the project are accomplished in accordance with prescribed priorities, time targets and budget costs
Assists with managing changes in project scope, identifying potential crisis issues, and developing contingency plans to comply with company contractual requirements
Coordinate information requirements with the Corporate Project Controls Manager or the immediate supervisor
Required Skills CREDENTIALS AND/OR SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of fundamental business practices; and excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Experience with Primavera, P6, Microsoft Office and Timberline desired
Ability to work independently and analyze information effectively
Background in estimating, finance, and scheduling is a plus
Required Experience MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
BS, Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent
3+ years’ experience, including substantial cost engineering experience with general and US government contracts
