Responsibilities:
As a Surf/SUP Instructor you'll be responsible for :
-Giving clear surf/SUP instructions to all types of people on the sand and in the water;
-Helping direct multiple people in the ocean at the same time during different conditions SAFELY;
-Pushing people of all ages and sizes into waves;
-Ensuring all participants are safe during surf lessons;
-Fostering independence for customers in helping them learn when to paddle for waves so they can be successful in catching them
Job Requirements and Experience for Surf Instructor:
-2-5 years or more experience surfing.
-Proficient swimmer. We require each instructor to be proficient in swimming as they will spend most of their time in the water helping clients and will be required to swim.
-Ocean safety understanding. All of our instructors must understand ocean safety and be able to keep themselves and their clients safe during their lesson.
-Customer service. Each employee will have to work directly with customers and provide them with good customer service.
-Ability to show in a timely manner.
-Ability to swim and direct people in currents or deep water.
-Upbeat and positive attitude.
-CPR certification.
-Being able to work in a team environment. Sincere and caring attitude.
-Have to be on island to apply. Must be available to work on Thursdays, Fridays / Holidays
