Little Hoku Montessori, a small and vibrant school located in South Maui, is seeking a dedicated Assistant to join our team on a full-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals with a strong passion for early childhood education and a commitment to supporting the growth and development of children aged 3 to 6.
Position Details:
-Full-time position: Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 4 pm

Responsibilities:
-Collaborate with the lead Montessori teacher in providing a nurturing and engaging learning environment for children aged 3 to 6
-Assist in implementing Montessori principles and practices in the classroom, fostering independent learning, and supporting each child's individual needs
-Cultivate a calm and respectful classroom atmosphere, promoting positive social interactions, self-discipline, and a love for learning
-Help create and maintain an organized, safe, and inspiring classroom environment that stimulates curiosity and exploration
-Provide individualized attention and guidance to students, promoting their cognitive, social, and emotional development
-Actively participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge
Required Job Qualifications:
-Previous experience working with young children, preferably in a Montessori setting
-Genuine passion and energy for working with children, creating a positive and nurturing environment
-Familiarity with Montessori principles and materials is highly desirable
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both with children and colleagues
-Patience, adaptability, and the ability to maintain composure in a dynamic and active classroom setting
-Flexibility to work collaboratively as part of a team, supporting the lead Montessori teacher
-Must have permission to work in the United States
