Hawaii Water ServiceJob Description:The Customer Service Representative provides proficient, high-quality attention and assistance to new and existing customers. The work is performed under direct supervision and requires exercise of independent judgment and initiative. The nature of the work performed requires that an employee in this class establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. This position is located in Waikoloa, HI.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Accurately balance and complete a daily cash reportTakes customer orders and provides high-quality customer service as necessaryAssists customers in person and by phone, addressing questions regarding billing, payments, conservation and water qualityEnters data into the computer as required with speed and accuracyPerforms a variety of routine clerical work, including filing, scanning, and collections, processing payments, scheduling appointments, and compiling reportsOperates standard office equipment, including word processing equipment as assigned; may perform duties on computer spreadsheet programsPerforms major cashiering duties, including taking payments in person, processing credit card payments, balances individual cash drawer, and prepares bank depositsEdits meter reading, writes and resolves service orders, folds and stuffs bills as requestedUpdates customer accounts as neededCorresponds with customers regarding metered billing statusScans and saves service orders, files customer and system service ordersParticipates in the Company's Continuous Improvement ProcessPerforms other similar duties as assignedMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or GEDFive years of customer service experience in an administrative or clerical capacityExcellent customer service skills with a pleasant and professional mannerMust be available to work extended hours as required for customer needsValid State Driver's LicenseRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Account skills for compiling adjustment and completing depositsFast and accurate data entry skillsProficient with Outlook, Microsoft Word and ExcelProficiency required in handling and balancing cashKnowledge of English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuationKnowledge of office methods and equipment, including filing systemsKnowledge of principles and practices of customer serviceAbility to operate a personal computer and other office equipmentAbility to manage multiple tasks accurately and with good humorAbility to take initiative to address and resolve problemsAbility to work as a team memberAbility to perform procedures in an organized and accurate mannerAbility to understand and carry out verbal and written instructionsAbility to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writingAbility to use logical and creative thought processes to develop solutions according to written specification and/or verbal instructionsAbility to prioritize and perform a wide variety of duties and responsibilities with accuracy and speed under the pressure of time-sensitive deadlinesSalary Range: $39,000 - $67,400Deadline to submit resume is OPEN UNTIL FILLED.The Equal Opportunity Policy of the Company is based upon the philosophy that all people should be treated fairly and with dignity.
