Educator - Nanny (Attachment-Informed, Montessori / Waldorf-Inspired)
Location: Captain Cook, Big Island - 3 minutes from Choicemart
Two children ages 3 - Twins
Schedule: 45 hours/week
10 hours educational engagement
25 hours nanny engagement - go out in nature, play games, no screens
10 hours Prepare meals, salads and juice to support health of family through food
Compensation: Competitive salary, approximately $55,000/year - $70,000 depending on experience
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Educator - Nanny who brings both developmental knowledge and emotional intelligence to their work with young children. This is a long-term, in-home role for someone who understands that learning happens through secure attachment, co-regulation, and embodied play, not just activities.
This position blends Montessori and/or Waldorf-inspired learning, attachment-informed caregiving, and supportive family rhythms, including simple, nourishing meal preparation for the children.
Core Responsibilities
Childcare & Developmental Education (≈35 hours/week)
Provide consistent, attuned, and emotionally responsive care grounded in attachment theory
Support children’s executive functioning (emotional regulation, impulse control, attention, working memory, and transitions)
Design and facilitate age-appropriate Montessori and/or Waldorf-based activities
Foster independence while remaining a secure base
Model co-regulation during moments of frustration, fatigue, or big emotions
Support social-emotional development through play, storytelling, rhythm, and routine
Maintain a calm, respectful, and predictable environment
Occasional babysitting as needed
Light Meals & Family Health Support (≈10 hours/week)
Prepare simple, healthy meals for parents and children - simple meat and vegetable, rice and pasta.
Support with keto and healthy recipes - and juice raw fruits and roots and bone broth soup
Collaborate with parents around recipes and new things to incorporate for health
Required Qualifications
Proven experience as a nanny, early childhood educator, or similar role
Working knowledge of attachment theory and emotionally attuned caregiving
Understanding of executive functioning development in early childhood
Montessori and/or Waldorf training or certification strongly preferred
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Comfortable working in a private home
Reliable, grounded, emotionally mature, and developmentally informed
Background check required
