Summary
Directly communicate with the general public and operate farm tours during working hours.
Essential Job Functions
Operate farm tours.
Answer and respond to customer emails and phone calls.
Operate gift shop and POS.
Merchandise gift shop.
Assist with husbandry of animals including cleaning tanks and equipment.
Scope of Responsibility
This position operates the farm tours and keeps the exhibits in a presentable condition. Animal care and tours are a top priority. This position is expected to possess excellent customer service skills, maintain composure in difficult situations, and have a positive attitude. Employee should be able to work outdoors, in a hot and wet environment. A background in biology is preferred, but not required.
Typical Duties
Operate/assist with daily tours (10AM, 2PM and 4PM)
Open gift shop and receiving area for customers.
Open and maintain all exhibits.
Receive customers and operate POS.
Feed and provide exceptional husbandry care for animals.
Assist biologists with daily operations between tours.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Hours
This is a part time position working either 9:30am-11:30am or 1:30pm – 5:30pm, days of the week are flexible and may include weekends.
