Takahashi Juku is looking for qualified individuals to work with preschool aged students between the ages of 3 ½ and 5 years old. These students are preparing for individual and group interviews at private schools around the island.
Tutors work with a child on a 1 to 1 basis. Each session is an hour long with the last 5-10 minutes set aside to speak with the child’s parent(s) about the day’s session.
Our Pre-K Curriculum consists of the following core areas:
Developing a “Try My Best” attitude, Phonics and Number Sense, Shapes, Listening Comprehension, Sequencing, Comparisons, Critical Thinking, Positive Behavior, Working with Peers, Problem Solving, Fine/Gross Motor Skills and Social/Verbal development.
Teacher Certification is not required but applicants attending college that are seeking a career in early childhood education or who have extensive experience working with preschool aged children is a plus.
General teaching hours are from 3 - 6 pm on weekdays and 8 am to 4 pm on Saturdays until the conclusion of the 2023-24 school year. However, the center’s hours of operation for the summer will extend to 8 am to 6 pm (M - F) and remain the same on Saturdays beginning on May 31.
Those looking for short term employment or people with limited availability need not apply. We are looking for committed tutors with flexible availability that can work weekdays and Saturdays.
