Responsibilities
- Engage with parents and families
- Drive safely and timely to session locations
- Coach the foundations of surfing and pool/ocean safety
- Responsible for children/participant safety in the water
- Be positive and build confidence in our clients
- Be flexible and okay with things taking a different direction then planned
- Practice motivational interviewing when working with children and families (open ended questions, reflective listening, strengths based, values focused)
Qualifications
- Reliable car
- Be able to show proof of residence (preferably live on the Southside)
- Degree/Experience in teaching, coaching, kinesiology or childhood development
- Lifeguard certification (Swell will pay for this)
- Friday and Saturday availability
- Paddle sport participant is a plus!
- Positive attitude
- Flexible mindset
Pay
- You will be a seasonal (turn to part-time) W-2 employee.
- $40/hour (in sessions)
- $15 for time in between sessions (ex: driving/waiting)
(There will never be more than a 2 hour wait between sessions)
