Work one-on-one with high functioning autistic adult helping him with his volunteer work at a Kailua preschool. Help with his duties including interacting with the children and assisting teachers and other staff as needed. His duties and responsibilities will be set by the preschool director.
You will not be an employee of the preschool but will be employed by a local social service agency who contracts with the state to provide this service to eligible adults.
Work schedule is 8:30 AM - 1:30 PM Monday to Friday, except holidays and when school is closed.
High school diploma is required and some experience working with special needs children or adults is a plus. Prefer windward resident. We are looking for a person who wants a long term commitment. This is not a temporary position.
Job is available now, January 2024. Application process takes two to three weeks because you will be working with children and must have a background check, fingerprints, CPR, TB test and a brief classroom type training on working with special needs people.
