AECOM is actively seeking a mid-level environmental scientist for employment to be a task leader for a variety of military environmental projects (i.e., Remedial Investigations, Feasibility Studies, and Remedial Actions) within the private and Federal sector.  This role is a part time position that will offer 20 hours per week.  Education in Environmental Science, Engineering, or Geology along with work history in environmental investigation and remediation experience is crucial for success in this role.The candidate must also be able to work as part of a project team comprised of AECOM staff and subcontractors. Flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects, a positive attitude, willingness to mentor junior staff, and commitment to workplace health and safety are imperative. Field work may be required including the oversight of subcontractors.Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following: Utilizes advanced scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies develop technical solutions to complex problems.
Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, provincial and national regulations to ensure compliance. Work is performed with minimal direction. 
Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. Responsible for advanced duties and activities in their specialized functional area.
Conducts research and does investigation work as required. 
Plans and organizes project studies. 
Assists in the resolution of conflicting technical information and unsuitability of standard procedures. 
Performs complex assignments often requiring the development of unique solutions to problems. 
May oversee the work of less experienced scientists.
