About the Role:The Sales Manager is responsible for proactively generating new business and growing revenue across multiple market segments, including Group, Corporate, Government, Association, SMERF (Social, Military, Educational, Religious, and Fraternal), Leisure, Sports, Entertainment, and other assigned markets. The role focuses on developing strategic client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and maximizing room, banquet, catering, and ancillary revenue while positioning Ala Moana Hotel by Mantra as the preferred destination for meetings, events, corporate travel, and group accommodations.Working collaboratively with Operations, Convention Services, Reservations, Revenue Management, and Food & Beverage teams, the Sales Manager delivers exceptional customer service while achieving budgeted revenue, room night, and profitability goals.What You’ll Do:Business Development & Revenue GrowthProactively solicit, develop, and manage a diverse portfolio of accounts across Corporate, Government, Association, SMERF, Leisure, Sports, Entertainment, and other segmentsGenerate new business through prospecting, networking, sales calls, client visits, and industry eventsAchieve sales goals including room nights, banquet, catering, and total account productionDevelop and execute strategic sales plans, identify new opportunities, and drive market share growthAccount Management & Client RelationshipsBuild and maintain strong client relationships through ongoing communication and account servicingConduct client meetings, hotel tours, site inspections, and presentationsMonitor account production and develop strategic account plans for long-term growthRepresent the hotel at trade shows, networking events, and community organizationsProposals, Contracts & Sales Cycle OwnershipPrepare proposals, contracts, and agreements in a timely and accurate mannerNegotiate pricing and terms within approved guidelinesServe as the primary point of contact throughout the sales cycleEnsure all contract details and event information are communicated to internal teamsGroup & Event CoordinationCoordinate group business from contract through arrival in partnership with Convention Services and OperationsPrepare and distribute group resumes, BEOs, and event documentationCoordinate VIP amenities, special requests, and guest needsMonitor billing, deposits, and invoicing while resolving discrepanciesRevenue Strategy & Market InsightPartner with Revenue Management on pricing and group strategyMonitor market trends, competitor activity, and demand patternsRecommend pricing and promotional strategies to optimize performanceAdministration & ReportingMaintain accurate records in CRM systems and track account activityComplete reports, forecasts, and production analysisMaintain pipeline visibility across tentative, contracted, and definite businessCollaboration & Team ContributionPartner with Operations, F&B, Reservations, and other departments to ensure seamless guest experiencesShare leads, market intelligence, and best practices with the teamSupport hotel initiatives, promotions, and cross-selling effortsGuest & Leadership ExpectationsDeliver exceptional service throughout the sales and event lifecycleRespond to inquiries and resolve issues professionally and efficientlyPromote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and inclusionRepresent the hotel with professionalism while maintaining confidentiality and compliancePerform additional duties as assigned to support business needs
