We are looking to hire an outgoing person who wants to share the aloha spirit with travelers visiting the island of Maui, by performing a lei greeting at the Kahului airport. When there are greetings, your work day will start when you leave your home, until the last greeting is completed.
The weekly greeting schedule will be laid out in advance, so at times there will not be greetings for the day, however we do get last minute orders, so the schedule will change at times during the week. We are hitting our busy season so this should turn into a 20-30 hours a week opportunity. Living in Kihei is ideal, as the pick up location for the lei will be off South Kihei Rd.
Job Description:
You will be given the lei for the day's greetings in a insulated bag, a sign with the guests name(s) and a basket to put the lei in when entering the airport terminal. You will be given all the greeting info; airline, flight number, gate and where to meet the client. There is also an app we use which will give you up to date information on the flight, so it will be easy to schedule travel time to get the lei and then drive to the airport. We will accompany you to 3 to 4 greetings, to assist with getting familiar with the gate exits (left or right side of the terminal) and the service we provide each of our clients.
Pay: $20/hr plus tips.
We also give out bonuses, for getting great reviews from the clients.
A greeting, on average, should take about 30-45 minutes, from arrival at the airport until leaving the parking area after the greeting; some will be shorter, some will be longer. There is employee parking, which cost $39 per month, which we will reimburse you for. This will allow you to not pay the high cost of the hourly rate in the main parking lot.
