The Local General Store is part whole animal butchery, part bakery, and all love. We are looking for production bakers to join our team! The bakers would be part of a collaborative team to create, produce, and bake pastries including (but not limited to) croissants, danishes, cakes, cookies, and other desserts. We are seeking individuals who are excited to work with locally grown and harvested fruits and vegetables as well as collectively creating new items around these seasonal fruits and vegetables.
Duties will include (but not limited to) preparing and mixing dough (croissant, cakes, cookies, and pie crusts), preparing inclusions - pastry creams, frangipanes, developing and testing new recipes, and assisting with vienniosere. Experience is preferred but not necessary. We are willing to train if you’re willing to learn!
Shift hours are Sunday - Thursday. Shifts range from 5:30am-2:00pm, 8:00am-4:30pm, and 9:00am-5:30pm. Starting pay is $16/hour + tips, + opportunities to grow. Staff meal included in every shift and employee discounts available for bakery and butchery items.

Job Duties:
Mixing, prepping, proofing, and baking croissants and other pastries
Traying up of pastries for next day bake off
Preparing croissant inclusions and garnishes
Growing our value added canned goods such as jams, pickles, and sauces
Tracking pars and inventory
Qualifications and requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age
High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
2 years previous restaurant/cooking experience, preferred but not required
Must be able to frequently lift, maneuver and/carry up to 50 pounds
Must have TB Clearance
Must have Food Handlers Certification (can be obtained after hiring)
Able to work weekends
