The Right Slice in Kalaheo is looking to fill three positions! Two part time and one full time.
1. Part time prep cook. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. 3-5 hours per day. Schedule can be negotiated at interview. Sometime between 10 am and 4 pm. This is a long term position, we prefer someone who will be here at least a year.
You will be responsible for chopping fruits and veggies for pot pies, making crusts, mixing stocks and fillings and the like. You will also help with the kitchen cleaning each shift and on the evening of the 15th of each month. Pay $16-18 after training. This position could be first step towards cross training and promotion to Assistant Baker, after 6-10 months.
2. Part time shop keeper. Sunday 9-5:30, Monday 10-6:30 and Thursday 10-6:30.
You will be responsible for taking care of our fantastic customers, rotating stock and inventory, front of house cleaning and communicating with our Bakers. You will also be in charge of 1-2 support staff in the kitchen. Making sure they finish their duties on time and are maintaining our standards. Customer service and money handling experience preferred. Pay will be $16-20 after training PLUS TIPS. Tips tend to average $100-$130 per shift. You will also help with the store cleaning held on the evening of the 15th each month.
We are looking for a Shopkeeper who has excellent attention to detail, is a smiling knowledgeable face for our customers and who will be a great long term fit with our existing staff. We have an extensive training program which will take 2-4 weeks, only because you need to know your stuff before you can work a shift alone taking care of our fabulous customers!
3. The Right Slice is looking to fill a full time Baker position, as our Baker is headed to her next chapter on the mainland. Hours will be Wednesday through Sunday 5 am until pau. Usually 5-8 hours. This position could move into a 40 hour a week Lead Baker position for the right person.
First off: Must live between Omao/Koloa and Kekaha. We do not make exceptions to this requirement. You must also already live here on Kauai, we can't hire folks who are moving sometime in the future

Must have minimum 2 years baking experience in a commercial setting. Must have reliable transportation and a clear driving abstract.
PLEASE NOTE: Training for the first 4-6 weeks of this position will occur on a random schedule with our owner or lead baker. After training is complete you will move to a set schedule, which we intend to be the schedule listed above, but that could change according to the bakery's needs at that time.
Pay will depend on experience. All staff will complete an up to 90 day probationary period.

Ideal applicant will be quick to learn and have excellent attention to detail.
After training you will be working alone most mornings, so you must be able to track inventory and make production lists daily. You may also be doing the runs to Lihue for supplies on Wednesdays, so being able to lift and move 50 pounds is necessary.
Time management and multi tasking are essential to this position, as we need to have product out by the time we open the doors each morning. You will also help with the monthly kitchen cleaning on the evening of the 15th each month.
We bake both sweet and savory pies. You will be responsible for creating the days baking production list and monitoring inventory. Making and Pressing crusts daily. Mixing fillings and monitoring baking. You will also mix savory fillings for our pot pies like chicken, beef, pork and seafood. You will also help plan the dough makers production list.
Communicating with the FOH is also important to this role. Creating special orders and answering questions with ingredients and allergies.
We need someone who is a good fit with the staff we already have in place. Some of our staff have been with us 10+ years and we will only bring in someone who will be a good addition and healthy fit.
We would love to have someone who can follow our procedures and recipes, but also bring some new eyes and excitement to the business.
