Position: Edibles Baking Specialist

Overview of Position:
Maui Wellness Group, LLC (“Company”) is a regulated enterprise supervised by the Hawai`i Department of Health (“HDOH”) and Department of Public Safety Narcotics Enforcement Division (“NED”). This position is subject to strict regulatory compliance and government oversight.
Working alongside an experienced and committed team of medical cannabis growers, processors & lab technicians, the Edibles Baking Specialist (EBS) serves as the principal production team member responsible for preparation of the Company’s diverse and growing line of premium cannabinoid-infused baked goods.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Mixing & Portioning: Using Company-issued protocols and with recipe & other preparative guidance from the Director of Product Development (DPD),
▪ Mixes bulk batches of infused batter (i.e. cookie, brownie, bar, etc.)
▪ Apportions doses from bulk batter batches to precise specifications
▪ Arrays apportioned doses on baking trays for subsequent baking
▪ In collaboration with other production line managers, ensures ingredients and other supply inputs are properly stocked at all times;
▪ Regularly tracks, updates & reconciles inventories of baked good inputs, bulk batters, raw apportioned doses, and finished baked doses
▪ Regularly executes dose precision & quality control checks at each stage of the baked good preparation process.
▪ Using company-formulated Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) protocols & forms, regularly carries out and documents batch production work in compliance with applicable state regulations
▪ Maintains organized, hygienic & tidy baking workstations and equipment at all times
▪ On an as needed basis, reviews and/or develops new recipes for possible bulk production and inclusion on the Company’s menus
▪ Upon request, reviews Company baking protocols and makes recommendations for improved process efficiency & product quality subject to approval from DPD, implements such protocols
▪ Other tasks as may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Work Experience Required:
Minimum 5+ years commercial baking experience
Applicants must provide professional references from past commercial baking work
Informal/non-commercial baking experience will not suffice in lieu of commercial baking experience
Past experience working with cannabis-infused edibles is not required
Prior experience operating commercial-scale mixing & baking equipment in a fast-paced, precision-oriented commercial kitchen;
Work history that demonstrates stability, progressive responsibility and willingness to learn, take the initiative, and drive efficiency and innovation
Experience in a regulated industry subject to strict compliance and security requirements preferred but not required.
Skills, Abilities & Character Attributes:
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including anticipatory thinking and the ability to work well under pressure while remaining calm.
Excellent time-management skills; ability to effectively plan and prioritize tasks on the fly.
Basic use of computer programs including MS Office Suite.
Knowledge of purchasing procedures and bid management.
Demonstrated ability to work comfortably and effectively as a member of a diverse, multicultural, multigenerational environment.
Strong work ethic and the highest level of integrity.
Demonstrated proactivity flexibility, adaptability and ability to multi-task.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Physical Capabilities:
Extended time walking, bending, and reaching
Ability to lift and carry or move 50 pounds for a distance of 100 feet
State of Hawaiʻi resident with a valid Hawaiʻi State Driver’s License
Must pass a state-mandated pre-employment background check
Must have reliable transportation
At least 21 years of age
Overtime work may be required to accommodate patient service demand and company deadlines
Must be dependable and punctual
Must be able and willing to wear PPE such as masks, gloves, sanitary suites, etc. when necessary
Compensation Details:
Compensation for this position is flexible based on past employment history and reference-verified baking expertise.
