Restaurant General Manager (GM) oversees the day-to-day operations of the restaurant to ensure that everything is running smoothly so the guest can have the best possible experience. The GM primarily oversees the front of house staff, serves as the leader of the restaurant as a whole and handles a variety of responsibilities that could come up during a normal working day.
The General Manager must handle a variety of responsibilities in a fast paced-environment, so this candidate must stay calm under pressure and know how to switch gears easily. Strong interpersonal skills come in handy with dealing with difficult customers or resolving conflicts between staff members. An ideal candidate would know how to delegate tasks, lead by example and inspire all employees to work hard.
Qualifications include but not limited to:
Previous F&B General Manager Experience
Flexible schedule and able to work 50+ hours, weekends & holidays.
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills to create positive relationships and a team-oriented environment
Passion for service and hospitality
Experience using restaurant management software (POS)
Problem solving skills for unexpected circumstances, such as staffing shortages or unhappy customers
Strong organizations skills to keep the restaurant running smoothly
Understanding of how the food service industry works
Leadership to guide & inspire staff on a daily basis
Enforcing food handling regulations and other guidelines to increase guest safety.
Handling customer complaints
Follows all safe cash handling procedures and or payments
Organized, outgoing, friendly & confident
Ability to delegate responsibilities & duties
Knowledge of spirits, wine & beer
Essential Physical Requirements:
Lift and/or move up to approximately 50 pounds frequently
Bending/stooping/kneeling required
Routine standing/moving for duration of shift 10+ hours
Ability to climb stairs
