Position Title: Kitchen Associate - Porter Pavilion Commercial Kitchen
Position Summary: The Kitchen Associate plays a vital role in the kitchen's operations by contributing to various activities. This includes monitoring food production to ensure quality and consistency, overseeing the presentation of dishes to maintain high standards, and assisting the Kitchen Manager(s) in coordinating daily kitchen tasks and operations as directed. This role is essential in maintaining a smooth and efficient kitchen environment, ensuring that all culinary efforts meet the established standards.
Reports to: Kitchen Manager
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food for events and daily operations
Ensure that all food is prepared and presented according to the highest standards of quality and consistency
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to all health and safety regulations
Provide excellent customer service, addressing guest inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally
Help set up and break down food service areas for events, ensuring all equipment and utensils are cleaned and stored properly
Ensure that all kitchen equipment is maintained and in good working order
Properly store and dispose of food
Ensure health and sanitation standards are in compliance with regulations
Help cleaning and organizing the kitchen
Other tasks as directed by Kitchen Manager
Adhere to Anaina Hou Community Park policies and procedures
Skills and Qualifications:
2+ years of experience, preferably in a high-volume restaurant or events catering environment
Must provide or obtain a food handlers certification from an accredited organization approved by the Kitchen Manager
Ability to effectively work and interact with staff, vendors, volunteers, and the general public
Detail-oriented and resourceful with excellent follow-through skills
Highly organized with the ability to manage competing priorities
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, including effectively maneuvering around facilities
Repetitive bending, prolonged standing, twisting, stooping, squatting, and climbing
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 4 hours) without a break
Miscellaneous:
Flexibility in work schedule is required, including the ability to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as operational needs may require
All staff must successfully complete a background check to be eligible for employment
Ability to Commute: Kilauea, HI 96754 (Required)
